# Alexander Cosby Jackson

[Major-General](/source/Major-General) **Alexander Cosby Jackson** (1773–1827) was the 11th [General Officer Commanding, Ceylon](/source/General_Officer_Commanding,_Ceylon). He was appointed in 1812. He was succeeded by [Edward Barnes](/source/Edward_Barnes_(British_Army_officer)) in 1820.[1]
