**Alex Vetchinsky** ([né](/source/Birth_name#Maiden_and_married_names) Alec Hyman Vetchinsky; 9 November 1904 – 4 March 1980) was a [BAFTA](/source/BAFTA) nominated British film [art director](/source/Art_director) and [production designer](/source/Production_designer).[1][2] He worked on more than a hundred productions during a career that lasted between 1928 and 1974.[1] Vetchinsky was employed for many years at [Gainsborough Pictures](/source/Gainsborough_Pictures).[3] He later worked frequently for [Rank](/source/Rank_Organisation), including on several [Carry On films](/source/Carry_On_films).[4]
