**Alex Coco** is an American [film producer](/source/Film_producer).[4][5] He won an [Academy Award](/source/Academy_Awards) in the category [Best Picture](/source/Academy_Award_for_Best_Picture) for his producing work on the film *[Anora](/source/Anora)*.[6] He is also the co-recipient of the [Critics’ Choice Award for Best Picture](/source/Critics'_Choice_Movie_Award_for_Best_Picture) and the [Producers Guild of America Award Best Theatrical Motion Picture](/source/Producers_Guild_of_America_Award_for_Best_Theatrical_Motion_Picture).

## Early life and education

Coco is the son of Frank and Denise Coco. He is of Italian descent and his great-great-uncle, [Lawrence E. Gerosa](/source/Lawrence_E._Gerosa), was [New York City Comptroller](/source/New_York_City_Comptroller) from 1954 to 1961.[7][8][9]

Coco attended [New Canaan High School](/source/New_Canaan_High_School), a public high school in [New Canaan, Connecticut](/source/New_Canaan,_Connecticut),[9][10] and graduated from [Colgate University](/source/Colgate_University) in 2012.[11]
