**Alert** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area) in southern [Morgan Township](/source/Morgan_Township,_Butler_County,_Ohio), [Butler County](/source/Butler_County,_Ohio), [Ohio](/source/Ohio), in the [United States](/source/United_States).[1] It is located about ten miles southwest of [Hamilton](/source/Hamilton,_Ohio) on Howards Creek, a tributary of the [Great Miami River](/source/Great_Miami_River) in section 28 of R1ET3N of the [Congress Lands](/source/Congress_Lands). It is three miles west of [Shandon](/source/Shandon,_Ohio) and two miles south of [Okeana](/source/Okeana,_Ohio). [citation needed]
