**Aleksei Borisovich Yeryomenko** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Алексей Борисович Ерёменко; born 17 January 1964), also known as **Alexei Eremenko Sr.** is a Russian professional [football](/source/Association_football) manager and a former player who also holds Finnish citizenship. He last managed Estonian club [JK Trans Narva](/source/JK_Trans_Narva).

## Playing career

Yeryomenko made his debut in the [Soviet Top League](/source/Soviet_Top_League) in 1981 for [FC SKA Rostov-on-Don](/source/FC_SKA_Rostov-on-Don).[1] In the early 1990s, he moved to Finland, where he played for [Jaro](/source/FF_Jaro) (1991–94 and 1995–1997) and [HJK Helsinki](/source/HJK_Helsinki) (1999–2003). With the latter team, he played alongside his eldest son [Alexei Eremenko](/source/Alexei_Eremenko), 19 years his junior, and together, they helped their side win two Finnish championships in 2002 and 2003, thus becoming the first-ever father-son duo in the history of football to win a title in the top tier.[2] He retired at Jaro in 2005, aged 41.

## Managerial career

Yeryomenko was the manager of the Finnish club [FF Jaro](/source/FF_Jaro) between August 2009 and June 2016. On 4 August 2016, Yeryomenko was appointed as manager of [Kazakhstan Premier League](/source/Kazakhstan_Premier_League) side [Shakhter Karagandy](/source/FC_Shakhter_Karagandy),[3] being fired on 29 May 2017.[4] On 8 August 2017, Yeryomenko signed a one-year contract with Armenian side [FC Pyunik](/source/FC_Pyunik),[5] but left the club on 31 October 2017.[6] On 22 May 2018, [SJK](/source/Sein%C3%A4joen_Jalkapallokerho) announced that Yeryomenko had replaced [Tommi Kautonen](/source/Tommi_Kautonen) as their manager after their poor start to the season.[7] On 11 February 2020, FK Spartaks announced that Yeryomenko had been signed as their new manager.[8]
