'''Joseph Alcide Simard''' (25 October 1907 – 21 December 1984) was a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) businessman and politician. Simard was a [Ralliement créditiste](/source/Ralliement_cr%C3%A9ditiste) member of the [House of Commons of Canada](/source/House_of_Commons_of_Canada).

Born in [Saint-Léonard, Quebec](/source/Saint-L%C3%A9onard%2C_Quebec), he was a [life insurance](/source/life_insurance) agent by career. He was first elected at the [Lac-Saint-Jean](/source/Lac-Saint-Jean) riding in the [1965 general election](/source/1965_Canadian_federal_election). After his only term in Parliament, Simard was defeated at Lac-Saint-Jean in the [1968 election](/source/1968_Canadian_federal_election) by [Marcel Lessard](/source/Marcel_Lessard) of the [Liberal party](/source/Liberal_Party_of_Canada).
