It was founded in [1945](/source/1945_in_aviation) by designer Capt [Adriano Mantelli](/source/Adriano_Mantelli) and [Livio Agostini](/source/Livio_Agostini) to produce an unusual light aircraft developed by Mantelli during the war, initially as the [Tucano](/source/Alaparma_Tucano) and later as the [Baldo](/source/Alaparma_Baldo).
