Educated in the Physics Departments at the [University of South Florida](/source/University_of_South_Florida) and the [University of California, Santa Barbara](/source/University_of_California%2C_Santa_Barbara), Boss is a prominent scientist in stellar and planetary system formation and the study of [extrasolar planet](/source/extrasolar_planet)s who has made highly cited contributions to the study of [gas giant](/source/gas_giant) planet and [binary star system formation](/source/binary_star_system_formation).
