Akari Takeuchi was on November 23, 1997, in Saitama, Japan.<ref name="birth date and place"/>

In 2008, Takeuchi joined [Hello! Project](/source/Hello!_Project) as a [Hello! Pro Egg](/source/Hello!_Pro_Egg) member alongside [Mizuki Fukumura](/source/Mizuki_Fukumura) and Rie Kaneko. In 2009, she was chosen as a member of [Minimoni](/source/Minimoni)'s revival unit, [Shin Minimoni](/source/Minimoni), with fellow [Hello! In June 2011, Takeuchi took part in auditions to find second-generation members for the [Hello! Project](/source/Hello!_Project) group [S/mileage](/source/Angerme). On August 14, at the last performance of the [Hello!
