**Ahmad Al Saleh** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): أَحمَد الصَّالِح; born 20 May 1990)[1] is a Syrian professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [centre-back](/source/Centre-back).

## Club career

Al Saleh began his professional career with [Syrian Premier League](/source/Syrian_Premier_League) club [Al-Jaish](/source/Al-Jaish_SC_Damascus); he joined the senior squad in 2008.[1]

In 2018, Ahmad Al Saleh joined [Lebanese Premier League](/source/Lebanese_Premier_League) champions [Al Ahed](/source/Al-Ahed_SC).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] After one season, in 2019 he joined Kuwaiti club [Al-Arabi](/source/Al-Arabi_SC_(Kuwait)).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

Al Saleh was banned for life by the [SFA](/source/Syrian_Football_Federation) after he kicked, insulted and spat on a referee after being sent off whilst playing for [Al-Jaish](/source/Al-Jaish_SC_(Syria)) against [Al-Wathba](/source/Al-Wathba_SC) in a [Syrian Premier League](/source/Syrian_Premier_League) game on 3 February 2023.[2]

On 27 April 2023, Al-Saleh joined [Bourj](/source/Bourj_FC) in the Lebanese Premier League.[3]

## International career

Al Saleh was a part of the Syrian U-17 national team in the [2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup](/source/2007_FIFA_U-17_World_Cup) in South Korea.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] He played against [Argentina](/source/Argentina_national_under-17_football_team), [Spain](/source/Spain_national_under-17_football_team) and [Honduras](/source/Honduras_U-17_national_football_team) in the group-stage of the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] He scored one goal against [Honduras](/source/Honduras_U-17_national_football_team) in the third match of the group-stage.[4]

Al Saleh was selected to [Valeriu Tiţa](/source/Valeriu_Ti%C5%A3a)'s 23-man final squad for the [2011 AFC Asian Cup](/source/2011_AFC_Asian_Cup) in [Qatar](/source/Qatar),[5] but he didn't play in any of the three Syrian [group games](/source/2011_AFC_Asian_Cup_Group_B).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

He played for Syria at the [2019 AFC Asian Cup](/source/2019_AFC_Asian_Cup); his side exited in the group stage after only picking up a single point.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] After Al Saleh revoked the Syria captaincy to [Omar Al Somah](/source/Omar_Al_Somah), the press claimed that Al Saleh didn't like this decision and that he disputed it with Al Somah, who himself confirmed this matter in an interview in March 2019.[6]
