# Agnes Geijer

**Agnes Teresa Geijer** (26 October 1898 – 17 July 1989) was a [Swedish](/source/Swedish_people) [textile historian](/source/Textile_history) and [archaeologist](/source/Archaeologist).

## Life

Geijer became the head of the textile conservation [atelier](/source/Atelier) *Pietas* in 1930. She received a [doctoral degree](/source/Doctoral_degree) from [Uppsala University](/source/Uppsala_University) in 1938, and became employed at the [Swedish History Museum](/source/Swedish_History_Museum) in 1941. She was active there from 1947 as a [textile conservator](/source/Textile_conservator).[1]

Geijer died in 1989. A foundation in her name awards grants and [scholarships](/source/Scholarship_(financial_aid)) to students of the history of [textiles](/source/Textiles) from eight [Nordic countries](/source/Nordic_countries).[2]
