# Agathoto

**Agathoto** (Greek: Αγκαθωτό, before 1927: Τύρνοβον – *Tyrnovon*,[1][2] also Τέρνοβο, *Ternovo*)[3] was a village in [Florina Regional Unit](/source/Florina_(regional_unit)), [Macedonia](/source/Macedonia_(Greece)), [Greece](/source/Greece). It was part of the community of [Vrontero](/source/Vrontero).

Tyrnovo was located close to the Greek–Albanian border and within the [Prespa](/source/Prespa) Lakes region.[4] The church of St. George was built in 1869.[4] In the early 20th century, the village was within the kaza (district) of [Görice](/source/G%C3%B6rice) and the inhabitants belonged to the [Bulgarian Exarchate](/source/Bulgarian_Exarchate).[3] Between 1912 and 1928, the population numbered 100.[3] The village was abandoned due to war and only ruins remain.[4][3]
