# Aexone

Deme of ancient Attica

**Aexone** or **Aixone** ([Ancient Greek](/source/Ancient_Greek_language): Αἰξωνή) was a [deme](/source/Deme) of [ancient Attica](/source/Ancient_Attica) situated on the coast south of [Halimus](/source/Halimus). Aixone, along with neighbouring Halai Aixonidai, belonged to the Kekropis tribe. Aexone was celebrated for its fisheries.[1]

The site of Aexone is located at the modern [Glyfada](/source/Glyfada).[2][3][4]
