# Aethices

The **Aethices** (Ancient Greek: Αἰθικία)[1] were an ancient non-Greek tribe related to the [Epirotes](/source/Epirotes), who lived by robbery, are placed by [Strabo](/source/Strabo) on the [Thessalian](/source/Ancient_Thessaly) side of [Pindus](/source/Pindus).[2] They are mentioned by [Homer](/source/Homer), who relates that the [Centaurs](/source/Centaurs), expelled by [Peirithous](/source/Peirithous) from [Mount Pelion](/source/Mount_Pelion), took refuge among the Aethices.[3]
