**Aerospool, spol sro** is a [Slovak](/source/Slovakia) [aircraft manufacturer](/source/Aircraft_manufacturer) based in [Prievidza](/source/Prievidza). The company specializes in the design and manufacture of [ultralight](/source/Ultralight) and [kit aircraft](/source/Kit_aircraft) in the form of kits for [amateur construction](/source/Homebuilt_aircraft) and ready-to-fly aircraft.[1][2] They also build major components for [gliders](/source/Glider_(sailplane)) as well as repairing and re-finishing gliders.[3]

The company was founded at the end of 1990 by members of the [Aero-club Prievidza](/source/Aero-club_Prievidza).[4]

The company is organized as a [spoločnosť s ručením obmedzeným](/source/Spolo%C4%8Dnos%C5%A5_s_ru%C4%8Den%C3%ADm_obmedzen%C3%BDm), a Slovak [private limited company](/source/Private_limited_company).[1][2]

## History

The company's first product was the [fuselage](/source/Fuselage) for the WT3 [glider](/source/Glider_(sailplane)). The company then branched into making hand-laid-up [fibreglass](/source/Fibreglass) transport trailers for gliders, producing more than 120 of them.[4]

The company took on subcontract work and built more than 100 fuselages for the [InterPlane Skyboy](/source/InterPlane_Skyboy) ultralight aircraft. They produced components for the WT6, the [Radab Windex](/source/Radab_Windex) and the [Aeropro Eurofox](/source/Aeropro_Eurofox).[4]

In 1992 they designed their own aircraft the [Aerospool Compact](/source/Aerospool_Compact).[4]

In 1993 Aerospool commenced offering repairs for [Schempp-Hirth](/source/Schempp-Hirth) gliders and was approved by the German [airworthiness](/source/Airworthiness) authority, the [Luftfahrt-Bundesamt](/source/Luftfahrt-Bundesamt). They started producing Schempp-Hirth gliders under contract and by 2017 were building [tailplanes](/source/Tailplane), [elevators](/source/Elevator_(aircraft)) and [winglets](/source/Winglet) for the [Schempp-Hirth Ventus-2C](/source/Schempp-Hirth_Ventus-2), as well as carrying out pre-assembly, painting and final assembly.[4]

In 1996 the Impulz first flew in [prototype](/source/Prototype) form and was developed into the [WT9 Dynamic](/source/Aerospool_WT9_Dynamic) in 2000. The two-seat WT9 Dynamic achieved commercial success and over 500 had been delivered by 2015. The three-to-four seat version of the WT9 is the [WT10 Advantic](/source/Aerospool_WT10_Advantic), which was first flown on 11 April 2013 and remained under development in 2017. The WT10 is intended to be supplied as a kit for amateur construction once production begins.[2][4][5]
