== Biography ==
Weale was born in [Knightsbridge](/source/Knightsbridge), [London](/source/London). Prior to becoming a professional author, he served as an officer in the [British Army](/source/British_Army) [Intelligence Corps](/source/Intelligence_Corps_(United_Kingdom)).<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.hmforces.co.uk/training/articles/350-about-adrian-weale |title=About Adrian Weale |access-date=6 May 2010 |publisher=H. Forces.co.uk |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090302042512/http://www.hmforces.co.uk/training/articles/350-about-adrian-weale|archive-date=2009-03-02|url-status=dead }}</ref>  He was compulsorily mobilised for active service in [Iraq](/source/Iraq) in May 2003 and from July to December 2003 held the appointment of Deputy Governor of [Dhi Qar](/source/Dhi_Qar) province in southern Iraq, seconded from the staff of [Multi-National Division (South-East) (Iraq)](/source/Multi-National_Division_(South-East)_(Iraq)) to the [Coalition Provisional Authority](/source/Coalition_Provisional_Authority).
