== Career ==
Colrat held the post of [chief of staff](/source/chief_of_staff) for the French [police commissioner](/source/police_commissioner) in [Réunion](/source/R%C3%A9union), a [French overseas department](/source/French_overseas_department) in the [Indian Ocean](/source/Indian_Ocean), from 1983 until 1985.<ref name=appointed/> He served as the prefecture secretary general in Réunion beginning in 1992.<ref name=appointed/>
