Adelsried is located on the edge of the swabic Holzwinkel in [Naturpark Augsburg – Western Forests](/source/Naturpark_Augsburg_%E2%80%93_Western_Forests) in [Landkreis Augsburg](/source/Landkreis_Augsburg) and around 20&nbsp;km from [Augsburg](/source/Augsburg). 

The Holzwinkel locked in 5 suburbs of Adelsried, [Bonstetten](/source/Bonstetten_(Schwaben)), [Heretsried](/source/Heretsried), [Welden](/source/Welden) and [Emersacker](/source/Emersacker). It is a densely forested area.
