==Life==
He was a member of the [New York State Assembly](/source/New_York_State_Assembly) (Chenango Co.) in [1842](/source/65th_New_York_State_Legislature). In 1843, he was appointed as an associate judge of the Chenango County Court.

He contested the election of [Ebenezer Blakely](/source/Ebenezer_Blakely) to the [New York State Senate](/source/New_York_State_Senate) (18th D.), and was seated on March 14, 1854. He remained in the Senate for the remainder of the term, sitting in the [77th](/source/77th_New_York_State_Legislature) and [78th New York State Legislature](/source/78th_New_York_State_Legislature)s.

He was Postmaster of [German, New York](/source/German%2C_New_York).
