# Accept discography

The [discography](/source/Discography) of [Accept](/source/Accept_(band)), a German [heavy metal](/source/Heavy_metal_music) band, consists of 17 [studio albums](#Studio_albums), five [live albums](#Live_albums), nine [compilations](#Compilations), 25 [singles](#Singles), four [video albums](#Video_albums) and 11 [music videos](#Music_videos). Formed in [Solingen](/source/Solingen) in 1976, with the bands first stable lineup featuring lead vocalist [Udo Dirkschneider](/source/Udo_Dirkschneider), lead guitarist [Wolf Hoffmann](/source/Wolf_Hoffmann), bassist [Peter Baltes](/source/Peter_Baltes), rhythm guitarist [Jörg Fischer](/source/J%C3%B6rg_Fischer) and drummer [Stefan Kaufmann](/source/Stefan_Kaufmann_(musician))..[1][2] The band signed to [Brain Records](/source/Brain_Records) and released their [self-titled debut album](/source/Accept_(Accept_album)) in 1979, which failed to chart.[3] After Friedrich was replaced by [Stefan Kaufmann](/source/Stefan_Kaufmann_(musician)), *[I'm a Rebel](/source/I'm_a_Rebel)*, *[Breaker](/source/Breaker_(Accept_album))* and *[Restless and Wild](/source/Restless_and_Wild)* (the group's first release after Fischer's departure) followed over the next three years,[2] the last of which gave Accept their debut on the [UK Albums Chart](/source/UK_Albums_Chart) when it reached number 98.[4]

The band signed with [RCA Records](/source/RCA_Records) and released *[Balls to the Wall](/source/Balls_to_the_Wall_(album))* in 1983, their first album with Fischer's replacement [Herman Frank](/source/Herman_Frank).[5] It was the band's first domestic success, registering at number 59 on the [German Albums Chart](/source/GfK_Entertainment_Charts).[6] The album also charted in the United States and Canada,[7][8] receiving gold certifications in both regions.[9][10] With Fischer later returning,[2] the band's commercial recognition increased with their next two releases, as *[Metal Heart](/source/Metal_Heart)* and *[Russian Roulette](/source/Russian_Roulette_(Accept_album))* gave Accept their first German top 20 and top 10 chart positions, respectively.[6] Dirkschneider was fired in 1987, but the band (with [David Reece](/source/David_Reece) and without Fischer again) returned in 1989 with *[Eat the Heat](/source/Eat_the_Heat)*, which peaked at number 15 in Germany.[6] After a final touring cycle, Accept broke up in late 1989.[2]

Reuniting with Dirkschneider, Accept returned in 1992 to record their comeback album *[Objection Overruled](/source/Objection_Overruled)*.[2] Released the following year, it reached number 17 on the German Albums Chart.[6] The group's popularity began to reduce in the 1990s, however, as 1994's *[Death Row](/source/Death_Row_(album))* peaked at number 32 and 1996's *[Predator](/source/Predator_(album))* peaked at number 56.[6] Again, the band broke up in 1997.[2] After a brief touring cycle in 2005,[11] Accept reformed in 2009 with Hoffmann, Baltes, Frank joined by returning drummer [Stefan Schwarzmann](/source/Stefan_Schwarzmann) and new vocalist [Mark Tornillo](/source/Mark_Tornillo).[12] Signed to [Nuclear Blast](/source/Nuclear_Blast), the band peaked at number 4 with 2010's *[Blood of the Nations](/source/Blood_of_the_Nations)* and number 6 with 2012's *[Stalingrad: Brothers in Death](/source/Stalingrad_(Accept_album))*, before achieving their first German Albums Chart number one with *[Blind Rage](/source/Blind_Rage_(album))*, released in 2014.[6]

Accept parted ways with Frank and Schwarzmann in 2014, with their places taken in April 2015 by [Uwe Lulis](/source/Uwe_Lulis) and Christopher Williams, respectively.[13] In 2017 the band reached number 9 in Germany with the live album *[Restless and Live: Blind Rage Live in Europe 2015](/source/Restless_and_Live)*, before issuing *[The Rise of Chaos](/source/The_Rise_of_Chaos)* later in the year and reaching the top three.[6] Another live release, *Symphonic Terror: Live at Wacken 2017*, also reached the German Albums Chart top 20 in 2018.[6]
