# Acalles

***Acalles*** is a genus of beetles in the family [Curculionidae](/source/Curculionidae).[1][2] Beetles of this genus can be found in the Western [Palaearctic](/source/Palaearctic) (Europe and Nortwest Africa)[2][3] and in southeastern North America where they live among [leaf litter](/source/Leaf_litter) or dead branches and vines.[4] There are about 570 species in the *Acalles* genus.[1][5]
