**ʻAbd al-Ḥamīd** ([ALA-LC romanization](/source/ALA-LC_romanization) of [Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): عبد الحميد; [Persian](/source/Persian_language): عبدالحمید, [romanized](/source/Romanization_of_Persian): *Abdolhamid*; [Turkish](/source/Turkish_language): *Abdülhamit*), also spelled as **Abdulhamid**, **Abdelhamid**, **Abd-ul Hamid**, and **Abd ol-Hamid**, is a Muslim male given name and, in modern usage, surname. It is a [Muslim theophoric name](/source/List_of_Arabic_theophoric_names) built from the Arabic words *[ʻabd](/source/Abd_(Arabic))* ('servant') and *al-Ḥamīd* (one of the [names of God in the Qur'an](/source/Names_of_God_in_the_Qur'an)),[1][2] and thus means 'servant of the All-laudable'.
