Both are the second newspapers founded after the country's independence. The newspaper started out as weekly as the newspaper was named after. It became a daily paper and did not change its name. The newspaper celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2001 and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016. == Contents == ''A Semana'' also features sports, the main one is titled "Lance Desportivo" ("Sports Launch"), weather, businesses and entertainment. ''A Semana'' features a special section called "Kriolidadi" or "Kriolidade"; dedicated to [Cape Verde](/source/Cape_Verde)an entertainment and culture, Kriolidadi is circulated weekly along with the rest of the newspaper.
