***A Loud Call*** is the third studio album by Australian indie-folk artist [Holly Throsby](/source/Holly_Throsby). It was released on 14 July 2008, which peaked at No. 34 on the [ARIA Albums Chart](/source/ARIA_Charts). Throsby worked with Nashville-based producer, Mark Nevers ([Lambchop](/source/Lambchop_(band)), [Andrew Bird](/source/Andrew_Bird)). At the [ARIA Music Awards of 2008](/source/ARIA_Music_Awards_of_2008) she was nominated for [Best Female Artist](/source/ARIA_Award_for_Best_Female_Artist) for the album.

## Background

Most of *A Loud Call*, the third studio album by Australian indie folk singer-songwriter, [Holly Throsby](/source/Holly_Throsby), was recorded at Beech House Studios, the residence of producer Mark Nevers, in [South Nashville](/source/South_Nashville), United States.[1][2] Nevers had previously produced material for [Lambchop](/source/Lambchop_(band)) and [Andrew Bird](/source/Andrew_Bird).[1] Some additional recording of strings and horns was done at [Tony Dupé](/source/Tony_Dup%C3%A9)'s home studio in [Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales](/source/Kangaroo_Valley,_New_South_Wales).[3]

*A Loud Call* was [Radio National](/source/Radio_National)'s album of the week when it was released on 14 July 2008.[4] The album peaked at No. 34 on the [ARIA Albums Chart](/source/ARIA_Charts).[5] In September 2008, Throsby was nominated for [Best Female Artist](/source/ARIA_Award_for_Best_Female_Artist) at the [ARIA Music Awards of 2008](/source/ARIA_Music_Awards_of_2008) for the album.[6]
