# AS Marca FC

**AS Marca FC** is a professional [football](/source/Association_football) club of [East Timor](/source/East_Timor) based in [Díli](/source/D%C3%ADli). The club currently plays in the [Liga Futebol Timor-Leste](/source/Liga_Futebol_Timor-Leste) [Primeira Divisão](/source/Liga_Futebol_Timor-Leste_Primeira_Divis%C3%A3o).

## History

### 2019

#### Foundation

Formed in 2019 for the [LFA Terceira Divisão](/source/2019_Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Terceira_Divis%C3%A3o) dispute, the teams debuted on November 8 playing against the [YMCA FC](/source/YMCA_FC_(East_Timor)) team for the first round of the competition.[1]

#### Promotion

With three wins and a draw, the AS Marca FC team achieved the best campaign in group B and was promoted to [LFA Segunda](/source/Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Segunda_Divis%C3%A3o) together with the team [Emmanuel FC](/source/Emmanuel_FC), first place in group A.[2]

### 2020

In 2020, due to the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic), the [Liga Futeból Timor-Leste (LFTL)](/source/Liga_Futeb%C3%B3l_Timor-Leste_(LFTL))[3] held only 2 official competitions: the [2020 Taça 12 de Novembro](/source/2020_Ta%C3%A7a_12_de_Novembro) and the [2020 Copa FFTL](/source/2020_Copa_FFTL). [2020 Copa FFTL](/source/2020_Copa_FFTL) was a way found by the [FFTL](/source/FFTL) to replace the [LFA Primeira](/source/Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Primeira_Divis%C3%A3o), [LFA Segunda](/source/Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Segunda_Divis%C3%A3o) competitions.[4]

#### Copa FFTL

Copa FFTL included all eight [LFA Primeira](/source/Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Primeira_Divis%C3%A3o) teams and 12 [LFA Segunda](/source/Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Segunda_Divis%C3%A3o) teams.[5]

AS Marca FC participated in the competition for having won the promotion to [LFA Segunda](/source/Liga_Futebol_Amadora_Segunda_Divis%C3%A3o) in 2019.[6]

The team debuted in the competition on August 30, 2020, against the [AS Ponta Leste](/source/AS_Ponta_Leste) team and got scared, [AS Ponta Leste](/source/AS_Ponta_Leste) won 7–0.[7]

Despite the bad debut, ASMARCA ended up recovering and finished the group stage in second place, thus achieving the classification for the next stage.[8]

However, the team was not so lucky in the quarter-finals and ended up eliminated from the competition after losing to the [Lalenok United](/source/Lalenok_United) team by the score of 6–0.[9]
