**AH45** is a route of the [National Highway Network](/source/National_Highway_(India)) of India, running 2,116 kilometres (1,315 mi) from in [Kolkata](/source/Kolkata) to [Krishnagiri](/source/Krishnagiri). This route is composed of [NH 16](/source/National_Highway_16_(India)) and part of [NH 48](/source/National_Highway_48_(India)) from Chennai to Krishnagiri.[1][2]

## Route

The route shares a large portion of various [Indian National Highways](/source/National_highways_of_India); namely [NH 16](/source/National_Highway_16_(India)) and [NH 48](/source/National_Highway_48_(India)).[3]

It passes through [Berhampur](/source/Berhampur), [Bhubaneswar](/source/Bhubaneswar), [Cuttack](/source/Cuttack), [Jajpur](/source/Jajpur), [Bhadrak](/source/Bhadrak), [Balasore](/source/Balasore), [Baripada](/source/Baripada) and ends at [Jharpokharia](/source/Jharpokharia), where it meets [NH 16](/source/National_Highway_16_(India)) in Odisha. In Andhra Pradesh, it passes through most of the coastal towns in ten coastal districts and covers the cities of [Srikakulam](/source/Srikakulam), [Vizianagaram](/source/Vizianagaram), [Visakhapatnam](/source/Visakhapatnam), [Tuni](/source/Tuni), [Rajahmundry](/source/Rajahmundry), [Kovvur](/source/Kovvur), [Eluru](/source/Eluru), [Vijayawada](/source/Vijayawada), [Mangalagiri](/source/Mangalagiri), [Guntur](/source/Guntur), [Chilakaluripet](/source/Chilakaluripet), [Ongole](/source/Ongole) and [Nellore](/source/Nellore). In [Tamil Nadu](/source/Tamil_Nadu), it passes through [Gummidipundi](/source/Gummidipundi) in [Tiruvallur district](/source/Tiruvallur_district) and enters [Chennai](/source/Chennai).

NH 16 has a total length of 1,764 km (1,096 mi) and passes through the states of [West Bengal](/source/West_Bengal), [Odisha](/source/Odisha), [Andhra Pradesh](/source/Andhra_Pradesh) and [Tamil Nadu](/source/Tamil_Nadu).
