The '''A586''' is a road in [Lancashire](/source/Lancashire), England, which runs from [Garstang](/source/Garstang) to [Blackpool](/source/Blackpool).

The road runs a total distance of {{convert|13|mi}}, in a roughly east–west direction, and is both urban and rural in character.  It begins near [Churchtown](/source/Churchtown%2C_Lancashire) {{nowrap|({{coord|53.8813|-2.7804|type:landmark_region:GB|display=inline|name=A586 road (eastern end)}}),}} south of [Garstang](/source/Garstang) and just east of [Catterall](/source/Catterall), as a junction on the [A6](/source/A6_road_(Great_Britain)) Preston Lancaster New Road, immediately to the north of Kirkland Bridge. It runs as a winding rural single-lane road {{convert|2|mi}} south west to [St Michael's on Wyre](/source/St_Michael's_on_Wyre), where it crosses the [River Wyre](/source/River_Wyre).  Becoming Garstang Road, it runs west, bypassing [Great Eccleston](/source/Great_Eccleston) and [Little Eccleston](/source/Little_Eccleston), and sharing with the [A585](/source/A585_road) as Garstang New Road between [Larbreck](/source/Larbreck) and Little [Singleton](/source/Singleton%2C_Lancashire), about {{convert|4|mi}} past [St Michael's on Wyre](/source/St_Michael's_on_Wyre).  This is a wider, straighter stretch of road.  The road splits from the A585 after approximately {{convert|1|mi}}, at the Five Lane Ends in Little [Singleton](/source/Singleton%2C_Lancashire), and enters the outskirts of [Poulton-le-Fylde](/source/Poulton-le-Fylde) as Garstang Road East.  From here, the road becomes progressively more urban as it reaches the suburbs of Blackpool. After {{convert|3.5|mi}}, as Poulton Road it crosses the [A587](/source/A587_road) at the Plymouth Road [roundabout](/source/roundabout), and becomes Westcliffe Drive as it passes through [Layton](/source/Layton%2C_Lancashire), and Talbot Road shortly after. The road continues as Talbot Road past [Blackpool North railway station](/source/Blackpool_North_railway_station) and the former [Blackpool bus station](/source/Blackpool_bus_station), and passes through the town centre [one-way system](/source/one-way_system), eventually terminating at Talbot Square {{nowrap|({{coord|53.8188|-3.0558|type:landmark_region:GB|display=inline|name=A586 road (western end)}}),}} where it meets the [A584](/source/A584_road) and [A583](/source/A583_road) next to the [North Pier](/source/North_Pier%2C_Blackpool).
