'''7 Tauri''' is a [multiple star](/source/multiple_star) in the northern [constellation](/source/constellation) of [Taurus](/source/Taurus_(constellation)). It has a combined [apparent visual magnitude](/source/apparent_visual_magnitude) of 5.95,<ref name=xhip/> so, according to the [Bortle scale](/source/Bortle_scale), it is faintly visible from suburban skies at night. Measurements made with the [Gaia](/source/Gaia_(spacecraft)) spacecraft show an annual [parallax](/source/parallax) shift of {{val|5.5|ul=mas}}, which is equivalent to a distance of around 593 [light year](/source/light_year)s from the Sun.

7 Tauri is a binary star with two nearly equal components about {{val|0.7|ul="}} apart, designated as A and B. The spectrum of each star matches a [stellar classification](/source/stellar_classification) of A7V.<ref name=tokovinin1998/> {{val|22|u="}} away is a 10th-magnitude star, component C, which is itself a [spectroscopic binary](/source/spectroscopic_binary). In the past, these stars had been treated as a single system, but they are now known to have different [proper motion](/source/proper_motion)s and somewhat different distances.<ref name=tokovinin1998/>
