**Adam Farag**, professionally known as **4th Pyramid**, is a [hip hop](/source/Hip_hop) recording artist, producer, songwriter and [DJ](/source/Disc_jockey) from [Toronto, Ontario](/source/Toronto,_Ontario) of [Egyptian](/source/Egypt) descent.[1] He is currently the official DJ for Toronto rapper and Juno-award winner[2] [Jazz Cartier](/source/Jazz_Cartier).[3]

## Career

### Beginnings

4th Pyramid entered the hip hop scene with the release of his self-produced debut album, *The Light is But a Shade of the Darkness',* an instrumental full-length.[4] [Chuck D](/source/Chuck_D) of [Public Enemy](/source/Public_Enemy_(band)) handpicked 4th Pyramid's 'Wallabee Strut' as one of the best 100 MP3s of 2000.*[5]*He was signed to rap label [Definitive Jux](/source/Definitive_Jux), owned by [El-P](/source/El-P) ([Run the Jewels](/source/Run_the_Jewels)), and appeared on the album [Definitive Jux Presents III](/source/Definitive_Jux_Presents_Vol._III).[6] During this time, he also collaborated with label mates including [Cannibal Ox](/source/Cannibal_Ox) and [Camu Tao](/source/Camu_Tao).[7]

### Rap

4th Pyramid released his debut solo rap album *The Pyramid Scheme* in 2012[8] after signing a deal with [Universal Music Canada](/source/Universal_Music_Canada). The album included the single "*It's So Hot*" featuring [Greg Nice](/source/Greg_Nice) of [Nice and Smooth](/source/Nice_and_Smooth) in 2010.[9] The track was featured in the film [21 and Over](/source/21_and_Over_(film)) and also appeared on the film's soundtrack.[10] The album also included collaborations with [Saukrates](/source/Saukrates), Marco Polo[11] & more. In 2013, he released the EP *The Sky Belongs To The Stars* which included the single "Friday Nights" produced by Grandtheft.[12] He has toured with [Wu-Tang Clan](/source/Wu-Tang_Clan), [ASAP Rocky](/source/ASAP_Rocky),[13] [De La Soul](/source/De_La_Soul), [Elzhi](/source/Elzhi), [The Pharcyde](/source/The_Pharcyde) and others.

### Production

4th Pyramid has produced and engineered tracks for the [Black Eyed Peas](/source/The_Black_Eyed_Peas), members of [Wu-Tang Clan](/source/Wu-Tang_Clan), [Pete Rock](/source/Pete_Rock) and others.[14]

### DJ

4th Pyramid formed the DJ group, *Sheen Bros* with Philadelphia DJ, [Cosmo Baker](/source/Cosmo_Baker)[15] and they released several mixtapes together[16] and an EP through the [Scion/AV](/source/Scion_Audio/Visual) label. 4th Pyramid continues to DJ internationally and is currently the official DJ for [Capitol Records](/source/Capitol_Records) recording artist, [Jazz Cartier](/source/Jazz_Cartier).[17] The two have toured Europe, North America and Canada including a tour with [Post Malone](/source/Post_Malone).[18]
