2002 Canadian film awards ceremony

The **4th [Jutra Awards](/source/Jutra_Awards)** were held on February 17, 2002, to honour films made with the participation of the [Quebec film industry](/source/Cinema_of_Quebec) in 2001.[1]

*[Soft Shell Man](/source/Soft_Shell_Man) (Un crabe dans la tête)* was the night's big winner, receiving nine nominations and winning seven awards, including [Best Film](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Film) and [Best Supporting Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Supporting_Actor) for [Emmanuel Bilodeau](/source/Emmanuel_Bilodeau), with [André Turpin](/source/Andr%C3%A9_Turpin) taking home and [Best Director](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Director), [Best Screenplay](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Screenplay) and [Best Cinematography](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Cinematography).

*[February 15, 1839](/source/February_15%2C_1839) (15 février 1839)* also received nine nominations and won four awards, becoming the third film to receive two acting awards, and the first to win both [Best Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Actor), for [Luc Picard](/source/Luc_Picard), and [Best Supporting Actress](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Supporting_Actress), for [Sylvie Drapeau](/source/Sylvie_Drapeau). Picard went on to beat [Rémy Girard](/source/R%C3%A9my_Girard), [Patrick Huard](/source/Patrick_Huard) and [Marc Messier](/source/Marc_Messier), who were all nominated for *[Les Boys III](/source/Les_Boys_III)*, and was also the first actor to be nominated for both [Best Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Actor) and [Best Supporting Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Supporting_Actor) during the same ceremony.

The first tie in the history of the awards happened when *[Lost and Delirious](/source/Lost_and_Delirious)* and *[Maelström](/source/Maelstr%C3%B6m_(film))* jointly won [Most Successful Film Outside Quebec](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Most_Successful_Film_Outside_Quebec). With this award and the eight it won the previous year, *[Maelström](/source/Maelstr%C3%B6m_(film))* tied the record set by *[The Red Violin](/source/The_Red_Violin) (Le violon rouge)* for the film with the most wins.
