The South Burnett Broadcasting Company was formed in 1936 and announced their intentions to establish a radio station to serve the South Burnett, North Burnett and Mary Valley regions of Queensland, including the towns of [Wondai](/source/Wondai), [Murgon](/source/Murgon), [Goomeri](/source/Goomeri), [Nanango](/source/Nanango), [Esk](/source/Esk%2C_Queensland), [Crows Nest](/source/Crows_Nest%2C_Queensland), [Kilkivan](/source/Kilkivan%2C_Queensland), [Eidsvold](/source/Eidsvold%2C_Queensland) and [Gayndah](/source/Gayndah).<ref>[http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/37009003 New Broadcasting Station To Be Erected In Burnett District], ''[The Courier-Mail](/source/The_Courier-Mail)'', 19 November 1936.
