It was the 83rd edition of the [Italian Open](/source/Italian_Open_(tennis)) and was classified as an [ATP 1000](/source/ATP_Masters_1000_tournaments) event on the [2026 ATP Tour](/source/2026_ATP_Tour) and a [WTA 1000](/source/WTA_1000_tournaments) event on the [2026 WTA Tour](/source/2026_WTA_Tour).
