The **2025 Laver Cup** was the eighth edition of the [Laver Cup](/source/Laver_Cup), a men's [tennis](/source/Tennis) tournament between teams from Europe and the rest of the world. Held at the [Chase Center](/source/Chase_Center) in [San Francisco](/source/San_Francisco), [United States](/source/United_States) from 19–21 September, it was held on a hard court on the arena floor. [Yannick Noah](/source/Yannick_Noah) and [Andre Agassi](/source/Andre_Agassi) served as team captains, both for the first time.[1] Team World defeated Team Europe 15–9 to earn their third title.[2]

## Player selection

On 2 December 2024, [Carlos Alcaraz](/source/Carlos_Alcaraz) and [Taylor Fritz](/source/Taylor_Fritz) were the first players to confirm their participation for [Team Europe](/source/Team_Europe) and [Team World](/source/Team_World) respectively.[3] On 20 February 2025, [Alexander Zverev](/source/Alexander_Zverev) and [Ben Shelton](/source/Ben_Shelton) were the next players to announce their participation.[4] [Tommy Paul](/source/Tommy_Paul_(tennis)) was confirmed for the event on 1 April 2025.[5] On 13 May 2025, organizers announced that [Holger Rune](/source/Holger_Rune) and [João Fonseca](/source/Jo%C3%A3o_Fonseca_(tennis)) would make their Laver Cup debuts.[6] On 30 July 2025, [Casper Ruud](/source/Casper_Ruud) and on 12 August, [Frances Tiafoe](/source/Frances_Tiafoe) announced their participation in the event.[7][8]

On 19 August 2025, both teams announced their final line-ups. As their final picks, Team Europe captain [Yannick Noah](/source/Yannick_Noah) chose [Jakub Menšík](/source/Jakub_Men%C5%A1%C3%ADk) and [Flavio Cobolli](/source/Flavio_Cobolli) while Team World captain [Andre Agassi](/source/Andre_Agassi) named [Francisco Cerúndolo](/source/Francisco_Cer%C3%BAndolo).[9] On 4 September 2025, Shelton and Paul withdrew due to injuries and were replaced by [Alex Michelsen](/source/Alex_Michelsen) and [Reilly Opelka](/source/Reilly_Opelka).[10] On 12 September 2025, Tiafoe withdrew and was replaced by [Alex de Minaur](/source/Alex_de_Minaur).[11] On 15 September 2025, [Tomáš Macháč](/source/Tom%C3%A1%C5%A1_Mach%C3%A1%C4%8D) and [Jenson Brooksby](/source/Jenson_Brooksby) were announced as alternates.[12]
