The **2023 [PointsBet Invitational](/source/PointsBet_Invitational)** [curling](/source/Curling) tournament was held from September 27 to October 1 at the [Sixteen Mile Sports Complex](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sixteen_Mile_Sports_Complex&action=edit&redlink=1) in [Oakville](/source/Oakville%2C_Ontario), [Ontario](/source/Ontario).[1] The event featured thirty-two Canadian teams and was the first major event of the [2023–24 season](/source/2023%E2%80%9324_curling_season).[2] It was played in a [single-elimination tournament](/source/Single-elimination_tournament) with the winning team on both the men's and women's sides receiving $50,000 each.

## Qualification

The top 10 ranked men's and women's [2022–23](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_curling_season) [CTRS standings](/source/CTRS_standings) qualified for the event first.[3] The 2023 Ontario men's and women's champions also qualified. Additionally, the reigning men's and women's champions of the [2023 Canadian Junior Curling Championships](/source/2023_Canadian_Junior_Curling_Championships), the [2023 CCAA/Curling Canada College Curling Championships](/source/2023_CCAA%2FCurling_Canada_College_Curling_Championships), the [2023 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships](/source/2023_U_Sports%2FCurling_Canada_University_Curling_Championships), the [2023 U25 NextGen Classic](/source/U25_NextGen_Classic) and the [2022 Canadian Curling Club Championships](/source/2022_Canadian_Curling_Club_Championships) received a berth to round out the field.
