The **2023 [Insitu](/source/Insitu) Players Open** was held from October 12 to 15 at the [Dundas Granite Curling Club](/source/Dundas_Granite_Curling_Club) and the [Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dundas_Valley_Golf_%26_Curling_Club&action=edit&redlink=1) in [Dundas](/source/Dundas%2C_Ontario), [Ontario](/source/Ontario).[1] The event was held in a [round-robin](/source/Round-robin_tournament) format with a $70,000 purse on both the men's and women's side.[2][3] It was the first event held as part of the Players Tour during the [2023–24 season](/source/2023%E2%80%9324_curling_season).

The inaugural Players Open attracted a high calibre field of both national and international teams as it was held the weekend before the [2023 Tour Challenge](/source/2023_Tour_Challenge) in [Niagara Falls](/source/Niagara_Falls%2C_Ontario).[4]

[The Dirty Nil](/source/The_Dirty_Nil) played in concert on the first night of the event.[4]

In the men's final, it was a battle of Alberta, with Team [Brendan Bottcher](/source/Brendan_Bottcher) defeating the [Kevin Koe](/source/Kevin_Koe) rink 5–4. The win put Bottcher in first place on the [World Curling Rankings](/source/2023%E2%80%9324_curling_season#WCF_rankings). The women's final was a battle of Sweden, with [Anna Hasselborg](/source/Anna_Hasselborg)'s team defeating the [Isabella Wranå](/source/Isabella_Wran%C3%A5) rink 9–3, avenging her loss to Wranå at the Swedish European Championship playdowns the previous month.[5]
