The **2022 [Football South Australia](/source/Football_South_Australia) Federation Cup**, also known as the **[Australia Cup](/source/Australia_Cup) South Australian preliminary rounds** until the semi-finals,[1] was the 109th running of the [Federation Cup](/source/Football_SA_Federation_Cup), the main [soccer](/source/Association_football) [knockout](/source/Single-elimination_tournament) cup competition in [South Australia](/source/South_Australia). The competition also functioned as part of the [2022 Australia Cup preliminary rounds](/source/2022_Australia_Cup_preliminary_rounds), with the two finalists qualifying for the [main knockout competition](/source/2022_Australia_Cup).

[Adelaide City](/source/Adelaide_City_FC) were champions for the 18th time, defeating [Modbury Jets](/source/Modbury_Jets_SC) 5–0 in the final.[2] [Adelaide Olympic](/source/Adelaide_Olympic_FC) were the defending champions, losing 3–4 in the third round to [Campbelltown City](/source/Campbelltown_City_SC).[3]

A total of 51 teams participated in the competition, 47 from the Greater [Adelaide](/source/Adelaide) area, two from the [Adelaide Hills](/source/Adelaide_Hills) region and one from [Gawler](/source/Gawler%2C_South_Australia) and [Port Pirie](/source/Port_Pirie). [National Premier Leagues South Australia](/source/National_Premier_Leagues_South_Australia), [State League One](/source/State_League_1_South_Australia) and [State League Two](/source/State_League_2_South_Australia) represent levels 2–4 on the unofficial [Australian league system](/source/Australian_soccer_league_system) and are required to participate in the Federation Cup. The [South Australian Regional Leagues](/source/South_Australian_Regional_Leagues) represent level 5.
