It took place between April 2 and April 8, 2018 and was the 46th edition of the [Charleston Open](/source/Charleston_Open) tournament and a [Premier level](/source/WTA_Premier_tournament) tournament. The event took place at the [Family Circle Tennis Center](/source/Family_Circle_Tennis_Center), on [Daniel Island](/source/Daniel_Island), [Charleston](/source/Charleston%2C_South_Carolina), United States. It was the only event of the [clay court](/source/Clay_court) season played on green clay. [Kiki Bertens](/source/Kiki_Bertens), seeded 12th, won the singles title.[1][2][3]
