It was contested by teams representing Pakistan's four provinces and the capital. Squads for the tournament were selected based on a [draft](/source/Draft_(sports)) system.[1] [Sarfraz Ahmed](/source/Sarfraz_Ahmed), [Shoaib Malik](/source/Shoaib_Malik), [Younis Khan](/source/Younis_Khan), [Azhar Ali](/source/Azhar_Ali) and [Misbah-Ul-Haq](/source/Misbah-Ul-Haq) led the sides from [Sindh](/source/Sindh), [Punjab](/source/Punjab%2C_Pakistan), [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa](/source/Khyber_Pakhtunkhwa), [Balochistan](/source/Balochistan) and [Islamabad](/source/Islamabad).
