The **2014 BMW Malaysian Open** was a women's [tennis](/source/Tennis) tournament played on [outdoor hard courts](/source/Hardcourt). It was the 5th edition of the [Malaysian Open](/source/Malaysian_Open_(tennis)) and was an [International tournament](/source/WTA_International_tournaments) on the [2014 WTA Tour](/source/2014_WTA_Tour). The tournament took place from April 14 to 20 at the [Royal Selangor Golf Club](/source/Royal_Selangor_Golf_Club). This tournament had been discontinued, but was restarted when the rights were bought off the tournament in [Palermo, Italy](/source/Internazionali_Femminili_di_Palermo).[1]
