Four teams from each of the league's two conferences qualified for the playoffs, [seeded](/source/Seed_(sports)) 1 to 4 in a tournament bracket, with the two opening rounds in a [best-of-three](/source/Best-of-three_playoff) format, and the final in a [best-of-five](/source/Best-of-five_playoff) format. The [Minnesota Lynx](/source/Minnesota_Lynx) qualified as the overall top seed, and the [Los Angeles Sparks](/source/Los_Angeles_Sparks), [San Antonio Silver Stars](/source/San_Antonio_Silver_Stars), and [Seattle Storm](/source/Seattle_Storm) also qualified in the [West](/source/Western_Conference_(WNBA)). The [Connecticut Sun](/source/Connecticut_Sun) were the top seed in the [East](/source/Eastern_Conference_(WNBA)), joined by the [Indiana Fever](/source/Indiana_Fever), [Atlanta Dream](/source/Atlanta_Dream), and [New York Liberty](/source/New_York_Liberty).[1][2] Minnesota won the Western Conference championship, and Indiana won the Eastern Conference championship.
