It was the ninth edition of the tournament which was part of the [WTA International](/source/WTA_International_tournaments) category of the [2012 WTA Tour](/source/2012_WTA_Tour). It took place at the [Seoul Olympic Park Tennis Center](/source/Seoul_Olympic_Park_Tennis_Center) in [Seoul](/source/Seoul), South Korea between 17 September and 23 September 2012. First-seeded [Caroline Wozniacki](/source/Caroline_Wozniacki) won the singles title.
