It was the 36th edition of the [Heineken Open](/source/Heineken_Open_(tennis)), and was part of the [ATP World Tour 250 series](/source/ATP_World_Tour_250_series)[1] of the [2011 ATP World Tour](/source/2011_ATP_World_Tour). It took place at the [ASB Tennis Centre](/source/ASB_Tennis_Centre) in [Auckland](/source/Auckland), New Zealand, from 10 January through 15 January 2011. First-seeded [David Ferrer](/source/David_Ferrer) won the singles title.[1]
