It was the 25th edition of the [ASB Classic](/source/WTA_Auckland_Open), and was part of the [WTA International tournaments](/source/WTA_International_tournaments) of the [2010 WTA Tour](/source/2010_WTA_Tour). It took place at the [ASB Tennis Centre](/source/ASB_Tennis_Centre) in [Auckland](/source/Auckland), New Zealand, from 4 January through 9 January 2010. Third-seeded [Yanina Wickmayer](/source/Yanina_Wickmayer) won the singles title.
