The **2009 International German Open** was a men's [tennis](/source/Tennis) tournament played on outdoor red [clay courts](/source/Clay_courts). It was the 103rd edition of the event known that year as the [International German Open](/source/International_German_Open) and was part of the [ATP World Tour 500 series](/source/ATP_World_Tour_500_series) of the [2009 ATP World Tour](/source/2009_ATP_World_Tour). It took place at the [Am Rothenbaum](/source/Am_Rothenbaum) in Hamburg, Germany, from 20 July through 26 July 2009. Second-seeded [Nikolay Davydenko](/source/Nikolay_Davydenko) won the singles title.[4]
