[Esteghlal Tehran](/source/Esteghlal_Tehran_FC) faced [Pegah Gilan](/source/Pegah_F.C.) in this final game. The first leg took place on Jun 09, 2008 at 17:30 [local time](/source/Iran_Standard_Time) ([UTC+3:30](/source/UTC%2B3%3A30)) at [Sardar Jangal Stadium](/source/Sardar_Jangal_Stadium) in [Rasht](/source/Rasht) and the second leg took place on Jun 16, 2008 at 17:00 [local time](/source/Iran_Standard_Time) ([UTC+3:30](/source/UTC%2B3%3A30)) at [Azadi Stadium](/source/Azadi_Stadium), [Tehran](/source/Tehran).

## Format

The rules for the final were exactly the same as the one in the previous knockout rounds. If the teams could still not be separated at that stage, then [extra time](/source/Extra_time) would have been played with a [penalty shootout](/source/Penalty_shootout_(association_football)) (taking place if the teams were still level after extra time).
