The '''2006 Super Fours''' was the fifth [cricket](/source/cricket) [Super Fours](/source/Super_Fours) season. It took place from May to July and saw 4 teams compete in a [50 over](/source/limited_overs_cricket) league and a [Twenty20](/source/Twenty20) knockout tournament. The competing teams were renamed from the [2005](/source/2005_Super_Fours) season, with Braves, Knight Riders, Super Strikers and V Team becoming [Rubies](/source/Rubies_(Super_Fours)), [Diamonds](/source/Diamonds_(Super_Fours)), [Emeralds](/source/Emeralds_(Super_Fours)) and [Sapphires](/source/Sapphires_(Super_Fours)), respectively. Sapphires won the 50 over league, whilst Diamonds beat Sapphires in the final of the Twenty20 tournament.

In the [one day](/source/limited_overs_cricket) tournament, teams played each other twice in a [round-robin](/source/round-robin_tournament) format, with the winners of the group winning the tournament. Matches were played using a [one day](/source/limited_overs_cricket) format with 50 overs per side.
