It was the 93rd edition of the [Hamburg Masters](/source/Hamburg_Masters) (German Open), and was part of the [ATP Super 9](/source/ATP_Masters_Series) of the [1999 ATP Tour](/source/1999_ATP_Tour). It took place at the [Rothenbaum Tennis Center](/source/Rothenbaum) in [Hamburg](/source/Hamburg), Germany, from through 3 May through 10 May 1999.[3]
