The **1998 FA Trophy Final** was the 29th final of the [FA Trophy](/source/FA_Trophy), [the Football Association](/source/The_Football_Association)'s cup competition for levels 5–8 of the [English football league system](/source/English_football_league_system). It was contested by [Cheltenham Town](/source/Cheltenham_Town_F.C.) and [Southport](/source/Southport_F.C.) on 17 May 1998 at [Wembley](/source/Wembley_Stadium_(1923)), [London](/source/London).

Cheltenham Town won the match 1–0 to win the first major silverware in the club's history.[1]
