The **1996 Mercedes Cup** was a men's [tennis](/source/Tennis) tournament played on outdoor [clay courts](/source/Clay_court) at the [Tennis Club Weissenhof](/source/Tennis_Club_Weissenhof) in [Stuttgart](/source/Stuttgart), Germany that was part of the [Championship Series](/source/ATP_International_Series_Gold) of the [1996 ATP Tour](/source/1996_ATP_Tour). It was the 20th edition of the [tournament](/source/Stuttgart_Open) and was held from 15 July until 21 July 1996. [Thomas Muster](/source/Thomas_Muster) won the singles title.[3][4]
