The **1996 India Open** was a men's [tennis](/source/Tennis) tournament played on [outdoor hard courts](/source/Hardcourt) in [New Delhi](/source/New_Delhi) in India and was part of the [World Series](/source/ATP_International_Series) of the [1996 ATP Tour](/source/1996_ATP_Tour). It was the inaugural edition of the tournament and took place from 8 April through 14 April 1996. First-seeded [Thomas Enqvist](/source/Thomas_Enqvist) won the singles title.[3]
